Black Friday special. He had to work until 3:00 p.m. and got a late start out for the evening hunt but this beautiful 8 point came in just before dark. Mike’s best buck yet!

Came home on leave (currently stationed in Omaha) and was blessed to shoot this beautiful deer on Veterans Day on my 2nd hunt of the year, and couldn’t be more blessed and thankful for my dad for all the work he put in to give me this opportunity.

Time was winding down , I had let a young 5 pointer walk in the am and it was about 5:30 pm I was sitting over some corn stubble at the back of the property with thick bedding on both sides. He came out of the bedding and was trotting across the field headed for the other bedding area and I hit him right behind the shoulder and he ran about 15 yards and flipped over. Out of all the decent w.5 year old and older deer I had on camera all through the months im still unsure if he was one of them.

Wasn’t seeing much all afternoon. A small spike and doe kept coming by. When this guy came in I just thought it was the spike or doe again. As soon as I saw the antlers, the rifle came out! I shot, he ran about 25 yards. Nice shot and didn’t have to track it very far!
